The basis on which Select Cars Countrywide Limited provides research and consultation for people buying a pre-owned vehicle.

1 · What we provide
We provide research and consultation about the pre-owned vehicle market: sourcing research, price assessment, specification review, budget planning, options comparison and purchase decision support. We are not a dealer, a broker, a buying agent or a surveyor. We do not sell vehicles, hold stock, or act on your behalf in a purchase.
2 · How an engagement is formed
An engagement begins when you send a brief and we confirm the scope and the fee in writing, and you accept that confirmation. No work is chargeable before that point. Nothing on this website is an offer capable of acceptance on its own, and a listed fee band is an indication rather than a quotation until it is confirmed in writing.
3 · Fees and payment
Consultation fees are charged inside four bands that top out at €200, per consultation. The band and the exact figure are confirmed before work starts. Where a purchase completes against research we carried out, the completion basis is stated as an agreed figure in the same written confirmation. We do not receive payment from any seller, and no part of our fee depends on which vehicle you buy.
4 · Delivery and risk
Research is delivered electronically as a written document. Risk in the deliverable passes to you on delivery. Delivery dates given in the scope note are estimates of turnaround and depend on the completeness of the information available for the vehicles in the brief.
5 · Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel before research begins and no fee is due. Once research has started, the work done up to the point of cancellation remains payable. Because the deliverable is prepared specifically for you and is supplied electronically, it is not a good that can be returned once delivered. Nothing here affects your statutory rights.
6 · Limits of our responsibility
Research is prepared from information available at the time and reflects it. It is not a document prepared for insurance, lending, tax or court purposes, and it is not a physical inspection of any vehicle. We are not responsible for the accuracy of third-party listings or records, for the condition of any vehicle, or for a decision you take after receiving the deliverable. Our responsibility for any engagement is limited to the fee paid for it, except where the law does not allow that limit.
7 · Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
